Taken at Byron Bay, Northern New South Wales. The most easterly point of the Australian mainland is at Byron, and that happens to be where these girls are sitting This is the small beach that runs along the side of the thin peninsula of rock. This is not as easterly as you can get though. The actual point is a rocky area to my right covered by crashing waves.
Byron is spectacular in the way that to immediatly to my left is a massive hill, surounded on all sides by cliff faces. It's very high, and is the only way you can get to the area in which the photo was taken. I might submit a photo of the area so that I can explain it better later on.
We did see a family of dolphins from on top of the cliff before we went down to the point, but they were obviously a long distance away and my camera doesn't have a mega zoom unfortunatelly...
I know I should...but guess what...I am I am planning on studying abroad over there sometime...dont know if in sydney or queensland yet...we'll see. (as far away from spiders as possible)
